The president of , (-MG), stated this Tuesday (17) that he does not rule out calling a session of the National Congress on Saturday (21), the day before the parliamentary recess, to vote on the 2025 Budget.
“It is systematically possible [votar o Orçamento sábado]. But we will try to speed things up as much as possible, obviously allowing due maturity”, he told the press after the session, when asked about the tight schedule.
Congress is racing against time to vote on the LOA (Annual Budget Law), the LDO (Budget Guidelines Law) and three proposals related to the spending package (a bill, a complementary bill and a proposed amendment to the Constitution ).
A session of Congress is called for Thursday (19), but the LOA rapporteur, senator Ângelo Coronel (PSD-BA), depends on the definitions regarding the minimum wage that are in the spending package to finalize the opinion.
Already this Tuesday and it is on the agenda for this Wednesday’s session (18) of Congress. The expectation is that the Chamber will also face the other projects related to the package this Wednesday.
