Why was Jô arrested?

As happened on previous occasions, Jô’s arrest was justified by the lack of payment of child support.

This is the second time that Jô has been arrested over the matter. The first arrest took place in May this year, shortly before taking the field for Amazonas, in a game against Ponte Preta.

At the time, he paid off the debt and was released. Now, he awaits the progress of the new process, but the release request would have already been issued. The arrest warrant was issued by judge Camilli Queiroz da Silva Gonçalves, of the Court of Justice of the State of Bahia (TJBA).

The custody hearing, in turn, should take place this Thursday afternoon (12/19). There is still no information whether Jô will be present in person or remotely.
