And child has died and seven other people have been injured this Friday at a school in the capital of CroatiaZagreb, among them a teacher in critical conditionfor an attack with a knife perpetrated by a young man, already arrested, against the students of a school in the southeast of the city.
The provisional balance has been confirmed by both the Zagreb Police and the Croatian Minister of Health, Irena Hrstic, who is already heading to the scene of the events, a school in the Precko neighborhood, still cordoned off by security forces.
The capital’s police, for their part, have so far confirmed that the aggressor is a 19-year-old young man who entered the school at 9:50 in the morning and began stabbing students and teachers with a “sharp object” until he was detained by the authorities, according to a statement published on his website.
The country’s Prime Minister, Andrej Plenkovic, has expressed his condolences. “We are horrifiedlike all the Croatian people, for the great tragedy that occurred this morning at the Precko primary school, in Zagreb”, he made it known in a message published on his account on the social network “condolence and solidarity to the families of all the injured, students and school staff.”
