Brasília/La Paz – At least 38 people were killed in a bus accident in southeastern Brazil on Saturday. Eight other people were taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said. The fire department initially spoke of 22 fatalities, but the number of victims continued to rise over the course of the day. A fire department spokeswoman said many victims in the burned-out bus were charred beyond recognition.
