In command for two years
Businessman Luiz Claudio Galeazzi had been in charge of the consultancy company that bears the family name, Galeazzi & Associados, for around two years. He was the son of consultant Claudio Galeazzi, who created the consultancy in the late 1980s, and who was considered one of the greatest experts in company restructuring in the country.

Galeazzi is recognized in the market for having participated in a series of company restructuring processes. Some of the best-known cases are those of GPA () – former Pão de Açúcar group -, in 2007, Lojas Americanas (), in the 1990s, and BRF (), in 2013.
A recent case was that of fashion retailer Marisa (), which hired Galeazzi last year to overcome a serious crisis. In total, 88 stores were closed, at a cost of R$44.5 million.
In restructuring processes, the consultancy usually applies principles such as the so-called Zero Base Budget, in which a company’s expenses are completely reviewed every year. It is common for processes to lead to operational reviews with the occurrence of layoffs, with a focus on preserving cash and, in the medium term, giving companies greater financial impetus.
