A Civil Police operation in the Jaconé neighborhood, in Saquarema, in the Lagos Region, left five suspects dead and a police officer injured, this Sunday (22).
In a statement, the police state that the agents were received by gunfire during “Operation Antevéspera”, an action against traffickers from Pará who sought to set up drug sales points in the region.
Among the dead suspects are three women and two men, one of them is the leader of the group, Washington Pereira Rodrigues, known as Parazinho.
The teams seized pistols with a Roni kit, radio communicators, ammunition of different calibers, notes related to the trafficking strategy and a “plentiful” quantity of drugs, according to the police.
According to investigations, the gang began to “intimidate and terrorize the local population” after invading a farm in a forested region.
The operation is underway and efforts are underway to capture a member of the criminal group who fled during the action.
