IKEA, known worldwide for its offer of kit furniture and affordable products, issued an important alert to customers who purchased the VARMFRONT powerbank. The Swedish giant is requesting the immediate return of two specific models due to a production error that could cause overheating, posing a fire risk.
The models covered by the alert are:
– VARMFRONT 10 400 mAh (dark blue), model E2038, with production dates: 2313, 2316, 2318 or 2319.
– VARMFRONT 5 200 mAh (blue), model E2037, with production dates: 2318, 2319 or 2322.
Customers can check the production date and model on the device itself.
Return procedure
IKEA requests that customers immediately cease using VARMFRONT power banks from affected models and go to any store to return them. The refund will be made in full and it is not necessary to present proof of purchase.
In a statement, the company reinforces its commitment to product safety:
“IKEA takes the safety of its products very seriously. All of our products are tested and comply with current legislation.”
Even so, after reports of problems with the models in question, the brand decided to act preventively to ensure consumer safety.
IKEA says it regrets “the inconvenience caused and thanks all customers for their understanding”. If you purchased a power bank from the models mentioned, it is recommended to return it immediately.
