33-year-old player was excited about returning to the club

Recently signed by São Paulo, midfielder Oscar spoke for the first time after returning to the club and showed that he was in tune with the fans. The 33-year-old player was excited about returning to the club, highlighting the importance of having a good campaign in the next edition of the Copa Libertadores.
“I know how important the Libertadores is for São Paulo. I hope that our team can have a good championship and go as far as possible. We need to start the year well to reach the Libertadores strong”, commented Oscar in an interview with SPFC Play, official club channel.
The reinforcement, who must wear the number 8 shirt, signed a three-year contract with the Morumbi club after eight seasons in Chinese football. The player stated that he is going through one of the best moments of his career and, therefore, hopes to contribute to São Paulo increasing the number of trophies in its gallery.
“I’m in a very good phase, both technically and physically. Last year was one of my best in Shanghai, I had more than 30 assists, I scored more than 15 goals”, said the midfielder, who played for Shanghai Port in Asian football. “I hope to help the club as much as I can to win big titles.”
Oscar also remembered his coexistence with Lucas Moura in the tricolor team’s youth categories and his recent contact with his friend, who expressed satisfaction in renewing the partnership next year.
“Lucas sent me a message, he wanted to know if it would work out or not. There’s also Luiz Gustavo, with whom I played on the Brazilian team. So, there are several people who have played with me and were happy that I’m returning to São Paulo. I hope to make a good partnership with Lucas, we already did at youth level and I now hope to reciprocate as a professional”, he said.
The player also demonstrated that there were no regrets after a troubled departure from the club to Internacional 14 years ago. He said he received support from São Paulo fans, which was essential for him to choose to return to Brazilian football.
