The President of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), responded this Friday (27) to questions made by Minister Flávio Dino, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), about the execution of R$ 4.2 billion in parliamentary amendments of commission.
In an official letter, the Chamber denies maneuvering to release the amendments through suspension of the committees and requests that the suspension of payment of amounts be revoked.
“The suspension of the functioning of the commissions, in effect, does not have any causal relationship with the matter discussed here and finds precedents with identical factual and normative grounds”, says the document.
Lira states that the complaint made by the parties that initiated the action at the Supreme Court “does not match the truth and reveals a profound lack of knowledge of the legislative budget process”.
The document also contains the minutes of the meetings of the permanent committees in which the amendments were approved.
