Last Wednesday, December 25th, an earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale was felt on the island of Terceira, Azores, interrupting a Christmas mass at the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Milagres, in Serreta.
The moment was recorded on video and shows the priest pausing the reading of the Gospel while the Christmas tree on the altar shakes due to the tremor.
According to IPMA, the tremor, with its epicenter about four kilometers northeast of Santa Bárbara, was the strongest of three earthquakes that occurred after 11 am. Despite the impact, no damage was reported.
