A survey recently conducted with about 1,000 small and medium entrepreneurs brings data from the relationship of small businesses with bets (sports bets) and online casinos.
The research, done by Impact Fund Stimuluswhich supports the Brazilian micro and small entrepreneur, and Mindminers, points out that 25% of entrepreneurs have bet online. Among those who have already bet, 20% say they had used resources from the company.
It was also found that 34% say they meet any entrepreneur who had financial problems because of online bets. Of these, 23% had the business at risk and 11% had moderate damage.
Looking at the management lens, the impact is also noted. The survey also points out that 79.5% of respondents believe that getting involved with online betting games can endanger the company.
Regarding credit, 69.5% believe that making bets online diminishes the entrepreneur’s chances of getting a credit in a bank. Already 18% think it is indifferent and 12% disagree, saying that it does not harm anything.
In relation to their employees, 50.6% of entrepreneurs would not hire or think a little more before hiring employees who frequently bet on.
Of these, 34% say that under no circumstances could there be this possibility. 29% would hire, less than 9% of these believe that there is no problem having an employee playing online often. 20% sees the action of the candidate indifferent.
Looking at the types of bets and games, 63% think all types involve similar risks. 29.5% think games like Tigrinho and casinos represent more risk and 3.5% already think they are sports bets.
3.8% believe that no kind of bet poses a relevant risk to those who undertake.
Entrepreneurs’ profile
With almost a thousand answers, 71% are entrepreneurial men and 29% women, most of which are aged 30 to 60 years.
They are entrepreneurs from various locations in the country, most of the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, among others, such as Ceará and Paraná.
