The Chamber’s Ethics Council will have a busy session this Tuesday (30)with the judgment of four representations per alleged breach of parliamentary decorum. The agenda brings together cases involving parliamentarians from different political spectrums and should raise the political temperature in the House.
The owner of this column had access to the processes that support the representations.
In the case of deputy Paulo Bilynskyj (PL-SP)the action presented by PSOL maintains that the parliamentarian, as president of the Public Security Commission, adopted conduct considered incompatible with decorum. The party cites episodes of interruptions, ironies and clashes with opposition deputies during collegiate meetings.
The representation against deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP)filed by the Missão party, questions publications made by the parliamentarian on social media after assuming the presidency of the Women’s Commission. The party claims that the content it went beyond the limits of political debate and constituted an offense incompatible with the mandate.
The PL, in turn, files two lawsuits against deputy Rogério Correia (PT-MG). The party maintains that, during the INSS CPMI meeting, there was riot, physical attacks and breach of decorum amid escalating tension between government supporters and opposition.
Behind the scenes, the assessment is that this Tuesday’s session should once again expose the environment of strong polarization within the Chamber, with the government base and the opposition in direct confrontation also in the Ethics Council.
