‘It was unfair, I say it here, in front of everyone’, declared the Portuguese star during the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony, held in Dubai
The Portuguese star, winner on five occasions, said this Friday (27) that the Brazilian striker, from Real Madrid, should have received the award for best player in the world given by the magazine France Football. The honor, awarded in October, was won by the Spanish midfielder, from Manchester City, while Vini, named as favorite in several predictions, came in second place.
“In my opinion, he [Vinícius] He deserved to have won the Ballon d’Or. It was unfair. I say this here, in front of everyone”, declared Ronaldo during the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony, held in Dubai. Although he recognized Rodri’s merits, Cristiano reinforced his opinion: “They gave it to Rodri, he deserved it too, but I think they should have given it to Vinícius because he won the Champions League.”
The Ballon d’Or winner is chosen by an international jury made up of specialized journalists. At the same ceremony in Dubai, Vinícius was named best player of the year, while Real Madrid received the award for best club of 2024.
