A 25-year-old man, known as “Gordo”, was arrested last Thursday (26) suspected of leading a criminal faction linked to drug trafficking in the Ponta da Pita region, in Antonina, on the coast of Paraná.
“Gordo” was arrested during Operation PITA, by the Paraná Civil Police (PCPR). The situation was triggered after an investigation carried out by the Antonina police station. Based on the information collected, the local Judiciary issued temporary arrest and search and seizure warrants against the suspect, which were carried out this week.

According to information obtained by PCPR, the person being investigated is identified as the leader of drug trafficking in the region. The suspect was also known for carrying firearms and using violent methods to collect debts from users and family members.
The presence and activities of the person being investigated had caused fear among local residents, who reported to the police the negative impacts of criminal actions on the community.
Delegate Renata Cintra, from PCPR, highlighted the importance of the operation: “This action is the result of meticulous investigative work and demonstrates the commitment of the Civil Police of Paraná to dismantling criminal organizations that directly affect the safety and well-being of the population. . The arrest of this suspect is a significant step towards restoring tranquility in the Ponta da Pita region”, he said.
