Jiří Kodet portrayed dozens of famous roles in front of the camera, one of the most famous is the choleric Jindřich Kraus in the cult film Pelíšky, which is already an essential part of Christmas. As the portal reminds, the proclaimed bohemian died at the age of 67. He would have celebrated his 87th birthday on December 6 this year.
The famous artist lived with his second wife Soňa, with whom he had a daughter Barbara and a son Ian, in the family house on the outskirts of Prague until his death. There he found a hobby in maintaining a garden with many ornamental trees and a large swimming pool. He had a daughter Karolína with his first wife Renata Cihelková.
“When our parents divorced, I was very young. I only remember him from the time when I started going to see him in Těptín. Paradoxically, I remember Sonia more than my father from this time. He was either having a show or filming. He slept quite often when he was home. He was a great actor, a strong personality, but he didn’t work very well as a father. The separation of my parents did not go well, they could not forgive each other for a long time and it was not easy to live between them,” recalls Karolína in the book Jiří Kodet – You and me on the scales, written by the actor’s wife Soňa.
The actor adored his house and in the summer of 2005 he passed away in it for eternity. At the end of his life, he had health problems and suffered a stroke during one performance. The trigger was a fracture in the femur, he received an endoprosthesis, but his body did not accept it and it fell out twice, writes the Czech portal.
Although he underwent another operation, he was unable to walk and suffered. Other health problems were also added, such as pneumonia, which took away his joy in life. He couldn’t garden or play.
