Flight attendant of plane that caught fire in South Korea is admitted to the ICU with multiple fractures; 2 survived
Only two people survived the plane crash that killed 179 at Muan Airport in South Korea on Sunday. (29. Dec. 2024). One of them, a 33-year-old flight attendant, told doctors that he had already been rescued when he regained consciousness.

Witnesses said the aircraft’s engine caught fire after a series of explosions. The plane skidded off the runway and flames consumed it. Muan fire chief Lee Jeong-hyun suggested that bird strikes and adverse weather conditions contributed to the accident.
Muan International Airport, located near coastal areas and countryside, is known for its high rate of bird strikes. This may have been a major factor in the incident. Authorities found the black boxes, which should help clarify the causes of the skid.
