A New York federal appeals court on Monday rejected an appeal by future US President Donald Trump in a sexual assault and defamation case. In 2023, a court ordered him to pay $5 million in damages to former columnist E. Jean Carroll for sexually assaulting her in a locker room in 1996 and later defaming her by claiming on social media that the allegations were a “hoax.”
