A survey carried out by Jornal O Globo, released this Monday (29), pointed out differences between the fans of the Ba-Vi duo in the Serie A games of the Brazilian Championship in 2024. According to the survey, carried out with the 14 clubs of The biggest crowd in the first division, Bahia’s fans sang louder than Vitória’s, while the red and black fans sang louder for longer.

The measurement was made using a professional decibel meter, a device that measures sound pressure in specific locations, and was carried out during matches. Those responsible for carrying out the measurements were positioned in the locations of the clubs’ organized fans. In other words, in the North sector of Arena Fonte Nova and in the Barradão parking lot.

The choice of matches was random, but respected certain defined criteria. Between October and December, the matches needed to be valid for Series A, take place in the stadium where the home team usually plays their games, with 90% of the tickets going to the local fans. Very decisive matches were avoided, but all were worth, for the home team, a title, a fight against relegation or qualification for international cups.

And the results?

The survey was divided into four categories, with Bahia ahead of its rival in two of them. On the other hand, Vitória surpassed the tricolor team in the other two measurements. The categories are: Who reached the highest volume, who had the highest average during the 90 minutes, who sang loudest for the longest time and who sang loudest for one minute.

The highest volume of fans in Brazil belongs to São Paulo, with 127.7 db. Bahia appears in 10th position, with 114.9 db. In this category, the red and blacks came in 14th place, with 110.7 db. Considering the higher averages during the games, it is Esquadrão who continues ahead of Leão. Tricolor came in 9th, with an average of 90.2 db, while Vitória had 86.7 db, remaining in 14th place.

In Salvador, measurements were carried out in the Bahia 1×2 Palmeiras and Vitória 1×1 Grêmio games. At Fonte Nova, the audience was just over 36 thousand people. In Barradão, almost 27 thousand people were present at the confrontation.
