Six emergencies closed this Tuesday and in the New Year

The SNS Executive Directorate calls on users to call SNS Line 24 before going to the emergency room.

Six emergency Gynecology/Obstetrics, Pediatrics and General services are closed this Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Health Service (SNS) Emergency Scales.

According to information published on the SUS Portal on Monday night, The pediatric emergencies at the Beatriz Ângelo Hospital, in Loures, the Torres Vedras District Hospital and the Peniche Hospital are closed.

Hospital de Abrantes and Hospital Distrital das Caldas da Rainha are urgently closed for Gynecology and Obstetricswhile Peniche Hospital has its general emergency department closed.

On New Year’s Day, there are also six closed emergency rooms, but they open the emergency room at the Hospital de Peniche and the general and pediatric emergency rooms at the Hospital de São João da Madeira close.

The data shows that the number of emergencies referenced is 10 this Tuesday and increases to 11 on New Year’s Day, one more than the day before, and open services remain at 188.

During the two days, The Gynecology and Obstetrics emergency departments at Hospital Garcia de Orta, in Almada, and Hospital São Bernardo, in Setúbal, only receive internal emergencies and cases forwarded by the INEM Urgent Patient Guidance Center.

The emergencies of these specialties in the hospitals of Cascais, Amadora-Sintra, Santa Maria, São Francisco Xavier, both in Lisbon, Beatriz Ângelo (today), Caldas da Rainha, Vila Franca de Xira, Braga, Leiria and the Centro Materno Infantil do Norte will only be receiving internal cases and those referred by CODU/INEM and SNS Line 24

Amadora-Sintra Hospital also has a pediatric emergency referenced between 00:00 and 08:00 and 20:00 and 24:00. On Wednesday, Beja Hospital will have a general emergency between 8pm and midnight.

Since December 16, pregnant women have had to call the SNS Grávida line before resorting to the obstetrics and gynecology emergency department of the hospitals that joined the project that started in a pilot phase in 11 Local Health Units (ULS), mostly in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, and in three units that voluntarily joined the project: Hospital de Gaia, Centro Materno Infantil do Norte and Hospital de Portalegre.

From January onwards, the ULS on the Setúbal Peninsula will join the project, namely Almada-Seixal, Arco Ribeirinho and Setúbal.
