Investors will pay the amount equivalent to 0.2% of the total balance upon early redemption, amortization and maturity

Starts charging the custody fee differently from this Tuesday (Dec 31, 2024). Investors in public bonds will only have to pay the full balance in 4 cases:

  • in securities movements;
  • when the paper matures;
  • the investor redeems the money in advance;
  • the Treasury pays interest and amortizations.

Previously, the fee was charged every six months, in January and July. With the change, the payment scheduled for January 2, 2025 will no longer be necessary.

“The charge will be made proportional to the period in which you invested, facilitating the experience as an investor and eliminating the need to manage periodic deposits”the Treasury said in a statement sent to investors.

In the case of the Treasury Educa+ bonds, which finance investments in education, and Renda+, which finances retirement, the charge will only be made upon redemptions or upon receipt of monthly flows. For those who hold these bonds until maturity, no fees will be charged.
