The National Police have arrested a 28-year-old man in Almería after he confessed to being 38 and then burned his body in an open field on the outskirts of the city, to try to get rid of it. Police sources have explained that there was no previous relationship between the two and that they had only met days before. Also that they were basic consumers, a drug made from the. After being brought to justice, the arrested person has now been placed in provisional detention.
The events occurred last Monday, December 30. That day a man approached the Almería Provincial Police Station to explain to the Police that he had witnessed a homicide. However, a few moments later, during his statement to the agents, he collapsed and confessed that he was the author of the events. He reported that a few hours earlier he had killed a woman and had tried to hide the body by setting it on fire. The agents went to the place he indicated and verified that what he said was true, so they arrested him.
The police investigation has revealed that the man was in his car with the woman, where they were consuming base. And that under the effects of that drug, during the course of an argument, he suffocated the girl “with a dog rope or chain,” according to police sources. After becoming aware of the crime he had committed, he went to an open field near the Retamar urbanization, on the outskirts of Almería, where he set fire to the body.
The Scientific Police unit of the National Police of Almería is now working to confirm the identity of the victim, for which it has taken DNA evidence from the charred body. The detainee has only identified her as a 38-year-old Moroccan girl whom he had met a few days before. While the police work continues, the Court of Instruction 6 of Almería has decreed provisional detention for the arrested person.
