By ensuring the appropriate fiber content in your diet, you can regulate the functioning of the digestive system and even protect against colon cancer.
In addition dried figs it is also a treasure trove of potassium that lowers blood pressure, so anyone struggling with hypertension should regularly consume this fruit. Dried figs also lower blood cholesterol, which helps protect against atherosclerosis and heart disease.
Dried figs should be consumed by, among others: elderly people, postmenopausal women, children, people leading a sedentary lifestyle and with vitamin D deficiency.
Many people will certainly like dried figs, but – due to their relatively high sugar content – it is better not to overdo it. So maybe not every day, but from time to time they will be included in the menu, especially in winter when the lack of fresh fruit makes us look for substitutes.
They are perfect, for example, as an addition to oatmeal or saladit is also a good idea to serve them on a cheese and cold cuts board during a party. First of all, dried figs are also an idea for a snack that you can always have with you.
However, not everyone should eat figs. They are not recommended primarily for people prone to migraines (due to the tyramine they contain, which causes headaches) and for diabetics.
