KAC and Salzburg win red-white-red prestigious duels

Vienna – The champions and runners-up started the new year with prestigious victories in the ICE ice hockey league. Defending champion Salzburg beat the Black Wings Linz 4-2 on New Year’s Day, while the KAC won a slugfest against the Vienna Capitals 7-4. League leaders HCB Südtirol won a 4-2 derby against bottom team Innsbruck. The VSV defeated second-placed Fehervar 5:4 nP, the Graz99ers lost at home against Olimpija Ljubljana 2:3.
