One person died and seven others were injured after a Tesla Cybertruck caught fire and exploded in front of Donald Trump’s hotel in Las Vegas this Wednesday (1), local authorities reported.
Las Vegas police and fire department officials confirmed the victim was inside the vehicle and crews were working to remove the body from the wreckage.
Seven other people who were in the vicinity of the explosion suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital.
A spokesman for Clark County, where Las Vegas is located, said the fire in the valet area of the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas was reported at 8:40 a.m. local time, 1:40 p.m. EDT.
So far, the cause of the fire has not been disclosed.
Eric Trump, son of the president-elect and executive vice president of the Trump Organization, commented on the fire on social media platform X, praising the local fire department and police “for their quick response and professionalism.”

The 64-story hotel is located next to the Las Vegas Strip and across from the Fashion Show Las Vegas shopping mall.
Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk recently published on X that “the entire Tesla senior team is investigating” the causes of the explosion.
Musk said he will publish more information as soon as the team knows something. “We’ve never seen anything like this before,” he said.
