A man caused a fire in his ex-wife’s house and was arrested by the Municipal Guard in Cascavel, West of Paraná. The case occurred on Thursday afternoon (2).

The woman would have a protective measure against her ex-partner, who before being arrested by Municipal Guard agents, was attacked by members of the public.

At the time the man started the fire, only the woman’s grandson was home. The 18-year-old boy was sleeping and was woken up by members of the public and left the residence with minor burns, being treated by a team from the Cascavel Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu).

A cat and a dog that lived in the property were not rescued in time and died in the fire.

The Cascavel Fire Department was called and managed to contain the flames at the residence, but the property was completely destroyed.

The wife of the grandson of the fire suspect’s ex-wife’s grandson, as well as the mother-in-law of the 18-year-old boy, still lived in the residence.

The man suspected of causing the fire at his ex-wife’s property was taken by the Municipal Guard to the Cascavel Citizen Police Station and remains in prison.
