Jeff Brothersfilm director and husband of the actress Aubrey Plaza (“The White Lotus: Sicely), passed away last Friday (3), at the age of 47, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiners.
Born on June 27, 1977, Baena began his career in the early 2000s, working as a production assistant for , a director known for films such as “Revelação” and “Cast Away”.
At the same time, he was also co-author of the script for “Huckabees: Life is a Comedy”, produced by David O. Russell.
However, the director only established his name in the market at the end of the 2010s, when he embarked on independent comedies. During this period, he released “A Vida After Beth” (2014), “Joshy” (2016), “A Comédia dos Pecados” (2017), “Entre Realidades” (2020) and Um Amor na Itália (2022).
In 2021, he married the actress, with whom he collaborated in all of his films, except for “Entre Realidades”. Baena is survived by his wife, Plaza, his parents and stepfathers, as well as several siblings.
