The United States are ready to do whatever necessary to support Argentina and are currently in negotiations for a $ 20 billion swap line with the country’s Central Bank, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Wednesday in an X post.
Bessent said the US is prepared to buy Argentine titles called dollars and will do so as conditions allow it. The US is also ready to provide a significant line of credit through the currency stabilization fund, he said.
“Argentina has the tools to defeat speculators, including those who seek to destabilize Argentine markets with political goals,” he said.
