Sylvie Vartan: This very special moment in her life when she would have liked Johnny to be there

Koh Lanta, Les Marseillais but also Married at First Looks… Louise Martin is a televore who tries, in her spare time, to remake the cakes she admires in front of the Best Pastry Chef… but she is not likely to win the blue apron! Social networks have no secrets for her, the latest scoops, the latest shows, she knows them all.

While Sylvie Vartan will soon retire from the stage for good after her final concerts at the Palais des Congrès in Paris in a few weeks, the former companion of Johnny Hallyday, with whom she gave birth to her son David Hallyday spoke about this in the columns of “Télé 7 Jours”.

Sylvie Vartan: This very special moment in her life when she would have liked Johnny to be there

Emblematic icon of the French music scene, Sylvie Vartan will finally put a definitive end to his career on stage. Indeed, the former companion of Johnny Hallyday will perform for the last time on the stage of the Palais des Congrès in Paris on January 24, 25 and 26, 2025, for events, before definitively bowing out. If he had not tragically died at the age of 74 on December 5, 2017 from lung cancer, Sylvie Vartan would have liked Johnny Hallyday to be present to attend his final performances. She also spoke about this subject on Monday January 6, 2025, in the columns of the magazine 7 Days TV.

In 2009, at the Olympia, we performed a medley of Piaf’s love songs, and I had the feeling that this would be our last duet. Every time Johnny asked me to join him on stage, I always tried to do it in an original way, like at the Parc des Princes in 1993, where I performed Tes tendren ans a cappella. I will never forget this moment. We will never be able to dissociate what we have shared, both professionally and personally. We were in tune“, notably indicated Sylvie Vartan. During this same interview, the singer talked about what she planned to do after her last three concerts. “It’s not going to be easy, but I’m not disappearing, I’m just saying goodbye to the stage, which I’ve been around. I won’t be bored, I have so many books to read, films to see, family to visit. And above all, I remain attentive to other projects that could be offered to me“, she underlined.

Sylvie Vartan had “not considered” becoming a singer, although she wanted to become an artist

Asked about her career, Sylvie Vartan clearly did not see herself pursuing another profession during her life. “I always dreamed of being an artist. For me, it was the best way to keep my childish soul. I was convinced I would succeed, despite the realities of life, and my arrival in France at the age of eight without speaking the language (she was born in Bulgaria, editor’s note). Even if they weren’t convinced by my choices, my parents always trusted me. It was more towards cinema or theater that I thought I was headingbut the success of my first duo propelled me to the top of a profession that I had not considered“, she explained in particular on this subject.
