A fight involving three teenagers, two boys and a girl, generated great repercussions on social media on Monday night (6), in Sena Madureira, in the interior of Acre.
The confrontation, previously arranged through Instagram, attracted a crowd of other young people who watched the clash at the agreed location, transforming the confusion into a true spectacle, in front of the municipal stadium, on Avenida Brasil.
In videos circulating on the internet, teenagers exchange punches, kicks, pushes and hair pulls, while the audience shouts phrases such as “You’re going to die, you’re going to die”, as if they were watching a professional fight. Some recorded the scene, while others encouraged violence.
Despite the seriousness of the episode, the police did not catch the act of violence. The fight ended with no serious injuries, but the negative repercussion on social media was immediate. Several internet users criticized the attitude of those involved and the lack of supervision, while others questioned the lack of preventive actions to avoid cases like this.
This was the second fight involving teenagers recorded in the city this year. On January 1st, two young people also clashed in Praça 25 de Setembro during the early hours of the morning, being filmed by witnesses.
Cases like these raise awareness about the role of social networks in amplifying conflicts between young people. For experts, the search for an audience and online validation has contributed to the trivialization of violence, in addition to putting the physical and emotional integrity of those involved at risk.
