A robbery at a pharmacy was recorded this Wednesday morning (8), in the center of Curitiba. The suspects attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle, but were pursued by an off-duty police officer, who works for the Civil Police.
According to RIC.com’s partner portal, the suspects’ car was intercepted on Rua Riachuelo. According to traders in the region, it was possible to hear gunshots.

Two of the suspects managed to escape and a 25-year-old woman ended up being arrested at the scene and taken to the Flagrant Center.
“The municipal guard team was called via cop, it was sent via radio, initially an exchange of gunfire. The team, as it was nearby, on the next street, 24 hours a day, arrived first at the scene. We did a screening there at the scene, there were two crashed vehicles. At first we thought it would even be a traffic accident, a traffic fight” informed municipal guard Roger, in an interview with Banda B.
According to the agent, the woman who was detained claimed that the vehicle used to escape belonged to her brother. The woman confirmed that she participated in the robbery with the suspects. Furthermore, she reported to agents that she was pregnant. The woman was taken to an Emergency Care Unit (UPA) for treatment and then taken to the Flagrantes Center.
According to the agent, the vehicle used in the crime is in good condition. At first there is no information whether the detainee’s brother was also involved in the robbery. According to the municipal guard, there was no exchange of gunfire at the scene.
“The civil police officer informed the team that he fired a shot, a single shot at the rear bumper of the vehicle and there were no victims. Both in the shooting situation and in the traffic collision situation”, informed the municipal guard. The case is being investigated by the Civil Police.
