Sponsorships and player sales contributed to the club’s financial performance; Paulinho’s transfer was highlighted
Atlético-MG, under the management of CEO Bruno Muzzi, has an operating surplus of R$8 million for the year 2024. The result was announced during a meeting with journalists at the club’s headquarters in Belo Horizonte, on Wednesday (08. Jan.2025). This is the 2nd consecutive year that the club has presented a surplus, after the positive result of R$ 20 million in 2023. Atlético-MG’s total revenue in 2024 reached R$ 657 million, a value “historical”, according to the club.
At the meeting, 3 topics regarding the club’s finances were highlighted: operational, investment in athletes and financial results.
In 2024, Atlético had recurring revenue of R$502 million, the highest in the club’s history. Revenue included R$250 million from broadcasting and prizes, R$81 million from box office, R$36 million from the “Galo na Veia” fan membership program, R$53 million from Arena MRV and R$83 million from the commercial area. The sale of players contributed an additional R$155 million.
The club recorded total expenses of R$494 million in the same period. The majority of these costs, R$379 million, were allocated to professional football. Other expenses included R$8 million for the “Galo na Veia” program, R$29 million for Arena MRV, R$38 million in deductions, R$35 million in administrative expenses and R$6 million for the Manto da Massa project .
Atlético-MG projects a debt of R$1.4 billion, according to the financial data presented. Bruno Muzzi highlighted the importance of maintaining financial sustainability, stating: “I need Atlético to have a surplus in the operation. It is what gives us sustainability. I leave this as a key message from our administration.”
