Take a hair dryer and break up the fluff in your washed jacket. It will be as fluffy as before

In winter, a down jacket, like other pieces of clothing, should be washed from time to time, even to freshen it up. While outerwear with artificial filling can be safely washed in a washing machine, a problem arises in the case of down jackets, i.e. those filled with natural feathers. Many people are afraid to wash such clothes themselves and usually take them to the laundry. This is due to the fact that after washing the down jacket in the washing machine, its filling clumps up. As a result, uninsulated gaps appear inside the cover, and it no longer looks as aesthetic as it did right after purchase. In such a situation, each of us wonders if there is any way to remove the down in the jacket that will help us save it and restore its functionality. There are plenty of tips online for breaking down down in your jacket. One of them certainly deserves attention because it is really effective. Just set your hair dryer to a cool setting and point it towards the inside of your jacket. With your other hand, vigorously tap the jacket with a wooden hanger in the places where the down has accumulated. And it’s done. like before.

How to wash a down jacket in a washing machine without damaging it?

it is extremely important to strictly follow the rules so as not to pack the fluff. First, remove any powder residue from previous cycles from the detergent container. It is best to use a down washing liquid or one for delicate fabrics. Before throwing the jacket into the drum, fasten all zippers and turn it inside out. Select a delicate or hand wash program. The down jacket should be washed at a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius and a maximum speed of 400 rpm. You can also throw 3 or 4 tennis balls into the drum along with your clothes. They will effectively break down the fluff during rotation. If you prefer not to risk washing in a washing machine, a good alternative is to wash the jacket by hand.
