The Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul arrested two people on Thursday morning (9) suspected of being part of a criminal organization specializing in vehicle thefts in upscale neighborhoods of Porto Alegre.
The objective of the criminal group was to steal high-value electronic equipment, as well as cards and other belongings from the victims, so that bank transfers could be made.
In addition to vehicle theft, the objective of the operation is also to combat reception, money laundering, tampering with motor vehicle identification signs, embezzlement and criminal organizations.
17 search and seizure warrants, six preventive arrests and three electronic monitoring installations are being carried out in the cities of São Leopoldo, Sapucaia do Sul, Gravataí and Canoas, in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre. In addition to the arrests, electronic devices, notebooks and card machines used in fraud were seized.
