In two years of investigations, the Federal Supreme Court (STF) convicted 371 people for involvement in the violent acts of January 8, 2023, including 70 fugitives, according to a survey by the Estadão in consultation with the National Arrest Warrant Bank.

She was tried and sentenced in early 2024, between February and April, but remains free. Only 27 people had their arrest warrants issued in the final stretch of the year, in the months of November and December. Also on the list are defendants with unfulfilled preventive detention orders.

Antonio Marcos Ferreira Costa was convicted in March 2024 and had an arrest warrant issued on April 24 of the same year. Eight months later, law enforcement authorities have still not located him to arrest him.

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) denounced Costa for trying to “depose, through violence and serious threats, the legitimately constituted government”. The STF ministers accepted the complaint and sentenced him to 14 years in prison.

The complaint also states that he was at Palácio do Planalto, where he “destroyed and contributed to the destruction, destruction and deterioration of Union property, doing so with violence against the person and serious threat, use of flammable substances and generating considerable damage to the victim”.

With an arrest warrant issued in April last year, Marileide Marcelino da Silva was accused of invading Congress and destroying several items of public property, including works of art and a Jeep brand vehicle. His trial ended on April 12 and culminated in a sentence of 14 years in prison.
