On January 4, the Civil Guard arrested a 33-year-old passenger of Spanish nationality at the El Prat airport in Barcelona accused of sexually assaulting a female crew member in the middle of the flight in the kitchen of the plane, who came from Seoul (South Korea). South) and whose destination was the Catalan capital.

As reported this Friday by the armed institute in a statement, the commander of the aircraft, after being informed of the events, took the appropriate measures to protect the victim until the plane landed at the Barcelona airport, relocating her to another area of ​​the aircraft away from his sexual attacker.

The events occurred when a cabin crew member was in the kitchen area of ​​the aircraft preparing the meal service. The detained passenger entered that area restricted to the passenger, closed the separation curtain and pounced on it. Afterwards, the detained man held the victim by the shoulder and touched him on his clothes.

A co-worker witnessed the attack

At the time of the sexual assault, a colleague who was next to the victim witnessed what happened and, reacting with a scream, caused the aggressor to leave the area. The crew immediately informed the cabin chief, who in turn communicated what happened to the aircraft commander.

Upon the plane’s arrival in Barcelona, ​​agents from the Airport Security Surveillance and Intervention Area (AVISA) of the Civil Guard proceeded to arrest the passenger. The Court of Instruction number 3 of El Prat de Llobregat has taken charge of the case.
