Twelve technological startups from around the world will present their projects to potential international investors in Albufeira, announced the Algarve company Dengun, which organizes the program.
The company’s marketing manager, Jorge Cabaço, highlighted in statements to the Lusa agency that the finalist companies will have, at the event scheduled for January 30th, the opportunity to try to raise up to 300 thousand euros in investment from a panel of investors.
This Dengun program was designed to “transform” technological startups into high-growth companies, offering participants “free access to valuable resources”, added the person in charge.
The twelve companies that will be in Albufeira come from Portugal, the United States of America, Canada, Spain, France, the United Kingdom and were selected from around 400 initial competitors from around the world.
The Dengun Founders Program is aimed at entrepreneurs from any country, regardless of the stage their project is at, covering sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, among others, according to a press release.
In addition to practical support, participants receive three months of free office space in the Algarve, “integrating themselves into a dynamic innovation ecosystem”, the note reads.
It also offers assistance in obtaining a visa in the European Union (EU), thus facilitating the growth of startups in Europe, he adds.
The Dengun Founders Program has a partnership with institutions such as the University of Algarve and received co-financing from the EU, through the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
The international startup acceleration program will culminate with an in-person pitch day, which will take place on January 30, 2025, at Le Club, in Albufeira, starting at 9:30 am.
