Israeli warplanes bombed a power station and two ports in Houthi-controlled Yemen on Friday (10). The offensive was in retaliation for the Houthis’ drone and missile attacks on Israel.
At least one person was killed and nine were injured, according to pro-Houthi media.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the Iran-backed group was “paying and will continue to pay a high price for its aggression against us.”
A series of airstrikes targeted the Red Sea port of Ras Issa and another six targeted the main port of Hodeidah, said Al Masirah TV, the main news channel run by the Houthis, while the district of Harf Sufyan, in Amran province, it was also the target of airstrikes.
An employee at the port of Ras Issa was killed and six other people were injured, the channel reported.
Earlier on Friday, British security firm Ambrey said airstrikes on the port of Ras Issa targeted oil storage facilities in the vicinity of the berths, although no merchant ships were damaged.
The supply of petroleum products is stable, Houthi government spokesman Hashem Sharaf Eddine said after the attack.
Thirteen airstrikes also targeted the Hezyaz central power station in Yemen’s capital Sanaa, Al Masirah TV reported. The broadcaster said three people were injured, including a Hezyaz employee, and that several homes were damaged.
An Israeli military statement confirmed the targets, saying the power station served as a “central source of energy for the Houthi terrorist regime in its military activities.” He added that the targets hit were examples of the “exploitation of civilian infrastructure by the Houthis.”

The Houthis have been targeting Israel, hundreds of kilometers to the north, as well as international shipping in nearby waters since November 2023, in support of Palestinians at war with Israel in Gaza.
