The ski season is in full swing and our reader Jana also went to enjoy the snow in the famous Donovaly ski resort. More and more people are asking themselves whether they can still afford active rest in the mountains. High prices for ski equipment, whether own or borrowed, ski passes, and even for refreshments on the slopes, make skiing an activity that becomes an unaffordable luxury for many families.

Our reader Jana wrote to the Koktejl.sk editors about the prices in the famous ski resort. “We spent two weekends in a row on the slopes, so I’m attaching receipts from different dates,” she explained at the beginning. “On the first day, we went day skiing, so we got really hungry. At lunchtime it’s a miracle to find a place to sit, I really consider that a huge minus,” she criticized the refreshment facilities.

“My husband and I had pulled pork with fries and chicken strips with fries. In terms of taste, everything was very good and I can’t help but praise the gentleman who served the food. Even though there were a lot of people, it went fast and he was very nice“, our reader praised the employee. They paid 28.80 euros for lunch.

As Jana further stated, the other days they went night skiing. “So we skipped the meal, but we wanted to warm up in minus temperatures and ordered tea. We paid 11.70 euros for 3 glasses of hot water, tea bags and honey. I was quite surprised“, she continued. “The next day, we bought two iced teas in a bottle, for which we paid up to 8 euros. That really seemed expensive to me.” she noted. “But the quality of the slopes was great, as were the prices of the ski passes,” she added at the end. You can find pictures in the gallery.
