The University of Porto states that “a psychological support team from the University is already on site providing support to students and staff who are in residence this weekend.” Out of “respect to the privacy of family and friends”, the institution “will not disclose additional information about the student’s identity.”
A expressed its “deepest regret” over the death of a student staying at the Ventura Terra University Residence, who was found dead this Saturday morning, on the public road.
In a statement, the U.Porto says that “a psychological support team from the University is already on site providing support to students and staff who are in residence this weekend.”
“In the coming days, a broad psychological support plan will be implemented aimed at the student’s colleagues, friends and family, ensuring the availability of specialized services to welcome and support any member of the academic community who requires support”, he adds.
As Circumstances surrounding the young man’s death are under investigation of the Judiciary Police, “who are legally responsible for determining the causes of this tragic event” and “out of respect for the privacy of family and friends”, the University of Porto “will not disclose additional information about the student’s identity.”
Young man was found on the public road
PSP source told Lusa that the body was found by a woman who was passing by the place, in Carvalhosa Travessaparish of Cedofeita, which gave the alert.
The Judiciary Police (PJ) and Public Security Police do not confirm signs of violence as was initially advanced.
The circumstances that led to the young man’s death, which found barefootare still being investigated, since “there are several hypotheses” which the investigation, now carried out by the PJ, will help to clarify.
