The bodies of the two killed in the attack on a settlement of the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) are mourned at the Municipal Wake of Tremembéthis Sunday morning (12).
Gleison Barbosa, aged 28, and Valdir do Nascimento de Jesus, aged 52died after being , on Friday night (10).
The wake began at 8am today in a public ceremony in the interior of São Paulo. The information was released by the MST on social media:
The São Paulo Civil Police, through the Taubaté Sectional Police Station, is investigating the case, which also left six people injuredbeing a woman in serious condition. The victims were taken to the Taubaté Regional Hospital and Tremembé Emergency Room.
Until now, known as “Nero do Piseiro”suspected of leading the attack, on Saturday afternoon (11). He already had a conviction for illegal possession of a firearm and confessed to the crime.
Researchers also called for the arrest of Italo Rodrigues da Silva. “There are informative elements to the effect that Italo was one of the perpetrators of the serious crime being investigated”, states the police.

Previously, the MST reported that the attack caused three deaths, one of them after a period of hospitalization in an induced coma. Later, the Movement retreated, highlighting the total of two fatal victims.
According to the MST, 10 criminals entered the Olga Benário Settlement with five cars and two motorcycles, shooting at the settlers. The information was also confirmed by the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Agriculture.
In a note, the MST states that “the place faces a intense dispute with real estate speculation focused on leisure tourism, due to its strategic location in the Vale do Paraíba region”.
