The minister of the (Federal Supreme Court) asked this Saturday (11) that the former president () send documents proving the invitation he received for the inauguration of .

The decision comes in response to the former president’s request for the release of his , withheld by the courts, to travel to attend the inauguration of the American president.

In the decision, the minister states that the defense needs to add documents that prove the official invitation to the event, scheduled for January 20th in Washington.

According to Moraes’ petition, the invitation included in the request was sent to the email of deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), son of the former president, via an unidentified email address and “without any time or schedule of the event to be accomplished.”

The passport is withheld by the courts due to investigations in which Bolsonaro is the target, including suspicion of involvement in the attempted coup d’état in 2022.

After sending the supporting documentation, Bolsonaro’s request will be analyzed by the PGR (Attorney General’s Office).

The request for passport release was made in November last year.

On Wednesday (8), Bolsonaro thanked Trump for the invitation on his social networks and said that his defense had already sent the request to release the passport to the STF.
