Manchester City achieved an excellent result this Saturday afternoon (11/01), in the third phase of the FA Cup. Pep Guardiola’s men thrashed Salford City 8-0, achieving their third consecutive victory, seeming to see the crisis that the team was experiencing increasingly distant, when they only managed one victory in 13 games.
However, not all seems to be well behind the scenes at City. After the match, coach Pep Guardiola revealed that full-back Kyle Walker, one of the symbols of the team’s victorious phase and current captain, asked to leave the team.

Why did the 34-year-old make this request? THE Sporting News respond below.
Why does Kyle Walker want to leave Manchester City?
Kyle Walker arrived at City in 2017. Since then, he has played 319 games, six goals and 23 assists. There are 18 titles won, including six Premier Leagues and one Champions League.
However, at 34 years old, the athlete does not show the same efficiency as in other times and was one of the most criticized in the recent bad phase that City went through.
— Well, two days ago, Kyle (Walker) asked to explore options to play overseas and finish his career. We cannot understand the success we had if we didn’t have Kle. It’s impossible. In his view, he would like to explore other countries for several reasons. He went to talk to Txiki (Begiristain, City director) — explained Guardiola.
In addition to interest from Saudi Arabian football, Milan appears to be interested in the veteran’s services.
