Josenildo Belarmino de Moura Júnior died after being shot by a motorcyclist in Santo Amaro, in the south of São Paulo
Civil Police chief Josenildo Berlarmino de Moura Júnior, 33 years old, was shot dead on Tuesday (14 January 2025), at Chácara Santo Antônio, in São Paulo. The victim was rescued and taken to Campo Limpo Hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.
Josenildo had been acting as a delegate for 2 months. The governor of São Paulo, (Republicans), lamented the death of the delegate and called the crime “barbarian”.

A security camera recorded the moment of the crime. The deputy, who was off duty, appears in the images walking, when a man on a motorcycle parks the vehicle on a section of the sidewalk. The person responsible for the death then approaches the deputy pointing a gun at him. When searching Moura Júnior, who was armed, the criminal shoots the victim, then flees on his motorcycle.
The deputy was shot once in the throat, once in the arm and twice in the back. The police ruled out the possibility of execution and registered the case as a completed robbery. The criminal is part of a group that carries out robberies in the region, according to information released by the newspaper .
Chief Osvaldo Nico Gonçalves stated that the Civil Police are investigating the possibility that 3 other men participated in the crime. In addition to the person responsible for the shooting, 2 others were said to be on two motorcycles. “From what we found out, he [Moura Júnior] He handed over his cell phone and gun, but the robber may have thought he had another gun and shot him in the back.”said Gonçalves.
