Woman was deceived of R$800,000 by fake “Brad Pitt” who used Artificial Intelligence

A French woman, identified as Anne, was the victim of an elaborate scam, involving someone using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to impersonate actor Brad Pitt. The fraud began when the fraudster, pretending to be the actor’s mother, sent messages to Anne, claiming that she was “the woman Brad needed”.

In the process of divorcing a millionaire, Anne was approached by a supposed Brad Pitt who, using AI, sent voice messages and manipulated photographs, declaring his love for her. The situation escalated when the fraudster claimed that the actor was hospitalized with kidney cancer and needed money for treatment. Through fake accounts on social networks and WhatsApp, Anne received an email from a “doctor” and transferred more than 800 thousand euros to an account in Türkiye.

Anne realized she had been tricked when she saw news of the real Brad Pitt with his new girlfriend, Ines de Ramon. The revelation led her to give an interview to the French program “Seven to Eight”, where she admitted the affair and the emotional impact suffered.

On social media, Anne was the target of jokes, including joking references to Netflix France and Toulouse FC, intensifying her fight against depression. Authorities are investigating the case, highlighting the dangers of advanced technologies in sophisticated fraud.
