Although facing difficulties, the Palm trees has not yet given up on signing Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira. According to president Leila Pereira, the parties are still negotiating to facilitate the player’s arrival.

She, however, admitted some anxiety so that the negotiation could be concluded more quickly. The team has made the operation difficult and wants to maintain it, but Palmeiras remains patient and confident in hiring.

“It is under negotiation, nothing has been defined yet. He is an athlete that we would really like to see come to . But nothing is defined. As it is difficult to hire a football player, it takes time. It’s not the timing of them, for me he would already be here. I have to be patient”, said Leila Pereira, in an interview with CazéTV.

The president reinforced that Palmeiras is still in the market looking for reinforcements. So far, the club has signed strikers Facundo Torres and Paulinho. Alviverde still dreams of at least one defender, a midfielder and a center forward, according to the Itatiaia.

“I’m excited, we are very prepared (for 2025). Every year Palmeiras competes in all the championships. We are used to the routine, the complicated schedule. We stayed in Brazil, we are prepared and we have not closed our squad. We are looking for more reinforcements. I think it will be a great year”, said Leila.

Palmeiras makes its season debut this Wednesday (15), at 9:35 pm, against Portuguesa. The teams face each other in a match valid for the first round of the Campeonato Paulista, at Allianz Parque.
