Queiroz is appointed by PL mayor in RJ – 01/15/2025 – Power

former advisor to the current senator (PL-RJ) in the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro and pivotal in the investigation into the parliamentarian on suspicion of “rachadinha”, assumed the position of undersecretary of Security and Public Order at Saquarema City Hall (93 km of the capital of Rio de Janeiro).

He was appointed by Mayor Lucimar Vidal () on January 10th.

When contacted by the report, Queiroz did not respond to messages and phone calls. In a post on Instagram this Tuesday (14), he thanked him for being nominated.

“I am a retired military police officer with 30 years of experience in public security in the state of Rio de Janeiro and I intend to apply all my technical knowledge and professional experience for the benefit of the population of this wonderful municipality,” he wrote.

In a statement, the city hall said that the appointment was made “in accordance with current legislation” and that Queiroz is “a retired PM and has 30 years in the security sector and experience to hold the position in public administration.”

The city hall was questioned, but did not respond about the undersecretary’s salary and the budget for the security department.

Queiroz was a candidate for councilor in Saquarema for PL in the 2024 municipal elections, but only received 588 votes and was not elected. During the campaign, he received it through a video. In 2022, he was a candidate for state deputy for the PTB, but was also not elected.

Queiroz became known as the pivot of the investigation into Flávio’s former office in the Assembly.

The investigation began after a sum of R$1.2 million in 2016 in Queiroz’s account.

Adriano was killed in 2020, in a joint operation by the Bahia and Rio police.

A municipal security and social defense plan, prepared by Saquarema City Hall, states that there is no presence of “militias or drug factions with ostensible armed control” in the municipality.

Some neighborhoods have drug trafficking, and militias tried to establish control in certain areas, “but the criminals were not successful,” according to the report.

With 89,559 inhabitants in the 2022 Census, the municipality, which is home to one of the stages of the , is one of those that receives the most oil royalties in Brazil.

According to the ANP (National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels) table, Saquarema obtained more than R$2 billion in resources from this source in 2024.
