Bahia did not start well in the Bahia Championship. After debuting with a draw away from home against Jacuipense, the tricolor’s alternative team was defeated by Atlético de Alagoinhas, 1-0, at Fonte Nova, on Thursday night (16), and continues without winning this season.

With the support of the fans, the tricolor created good chances, but failed to be effective in attack. On the other side, Carcará also pressed and were happier. In the 30th minute of the 2nd half, midfielder Felipe Cardoso hit a beautiful shot and beat goalkeeper Gabriel.

The defeat at home left Bahia with just one point at Baianão. Tricolor closes the 2nd round in 8th place, outside the classification zone. Atlético is 3rd, with four points. Tricolor’s next opponent in the state will be Jacobina, on Sunday (19), at 6:30 pm. The team from the interior visits Porto, on Tuesday (21).

In his debut at Fonte Nova, coach Leonardo Galbes practically repeated the lineup from the first game against Jacuipense. The news was the entry of the Everton center forward into the starting team.

Pushed by the fans, Bahia started the duel by going on the attack. The Squad tried to put speed on Carcará, especially with Ruan Pablo on the right side of the attack. In the first half, the boy had a private duel with full-back Caíque.

Little by little, Atlético managed to get out of the pressure and balance the duel. The interior team started to create opportunities in attack. Lucas Lucena tried it from outside the area and Gabriel made a good save. On the rebound, Gilmar also took a risk, but sent it out.

Still in the first half, Atlético needed to make two changes. Wesley Pratti and Esquerdinha left the field injured and were replaced by Rikelm and Felipe Cardoso, respectively.

Bahia pressed again in the final stretch. Ruan Pablo made an individual play and could have touched it, but he took another dribble and crossed low into the void.

The teams returned from the break with no changes, but seemed ready to take the score to 0-0. With less than a minute left, Rick Sena received the ball in excellent condition, but the finish exploded in defense. When he came back, he sent it out.

Bahia’s payback almost came in a counterattack. Everton was going to go free, but Lucas Sales made a providential cut and saved Carcará. Minutes later, Tiago took the remainder and kicked hard. Renan was quick to avoid the goal.

Coach Leonardo Galbes decided to launch Bahia into the attack. He removed Sidney as midfielder and added attacking midfielder Roger Gabriel to the team, but it was Atlético who showed efficiency.

Carcará began to tighten its attack. In the first, Gabriel made a great save after Menezes’ shot. In the second, Felipe Cardoso sent it from a distance and the Tricolor goalkeeper was unable to reach it. A great goal from Atlético, in the 30th minute.

The disadvantage made Bahia change the team again. Wendel and Gustavo Ulguim took the place of Jota and Tiago, respectively. Even so, the team remained stuck in attack. Vitinho received a shot, but was unable to take advantage and wasted another good chance.

Poorly organized, Bahia even had volume in the final stretch, but was unable to build the moves. Without the power to react, the team watched time pass and at the final whistle they regretted their first defeat of the season.
