Brussels – Inflation pressure in the euro zone worsened for the third month in a row in December. Goods and services rose in price at the end of the year by an average of 2.4 percent (Austria: 2.1 percent) compared to the same month last year, the Eurostat statistics office confirmed its earlier estimate on Friday. The value corresponds to the highest level since July 2024. Consumers had to dig deeper into their pockets, especially for services and food.
