President-elect of the USA was charged in 2023 by the Georgian courts; he takes office on Monday (Jan. 20, 2025)
The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump (Republican Party), his official portrait for the next term on Thursday (16.Jan.2025). On social media, internet users compared the photo to “mug shot” by the Republican, taken in 2023, when he surrendered to the Georgia Court to be charged in the case of attempted electoral fraud in the State in 2020.
O “mug shot” (police photo) is part of the traditional arrest procedure. It is a portrait taken in order to identify a person accused of a crime even if they are later released or judged innocent.
In the official photo for the next term, Trump appears with a serious expression, raising an eyebrow. Compare with “mug shot”:
