The White House called its threat to shut down operations in the United States on Sunday without further notice from the Biden administration a “trick.”
“We saw the recent announcement of TikTok. This is a ruse, and we see no reason for TikTok or other companies to take action in the coming days before the Trump administration takes office on Monday,” White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre said today.
“We have formulated our position clearly and directly: actions for the implementation of this law will be borne by the next government. Accordingly, TikTok and other companies will have to port their themes to it.”
